Group Work
Based on our work last week, I’ve placed you into the following groups:
- Fatima, Jaqy, Rebecca, & Simran
- Eliana, Katherine, Kallisse, & Rajeev
- Victoria, Persephone, Mariana, & Mithcie
- Diana, Hongyan, Peter, & Rukhsar
If you are not in a group yet, I’ll meet with you during class to make a plan.
In your groups, look more closely at the following collaboratively authored texts: Efthymiou & Zea’s “Doing More with Barely Enough,” McNamee & Miley’s “Writing Center as Homeplace,” and Lunsford & Ede’s “Writing Togther” (available on Bb). Answer the following questions:
- What is the purpose of each text/excerpt we looked at today?
- Describe how the authors of each text negotiate or organize their voices, both individually and collaboratively.
- Which model of collaboration appeals most to your group? Why?
- Sketch out a rough outline or plan of your next steps as a group.
Homework
Begin drafting your next blog post “Our Group’s Current Writing Plan,” which builds upon questions 3 & 4 above. You will continue workin on this blog post next class as you move towards completing your Collaborative Learning History projects.
